Have
you never dived before? Would you like to try it?
You can safely do a dive without taking a full dive course. This is
called "Introductory Diving", sometimes "Discover Scuba Diving" or
"Resort Diving". It all means the same and is a common practice worldwide
to give people the chance to dive for once in their life without taking
a full course. But be warned: many people do get hooked and complete
a full certification course later on!
How will this be done?
First, a dive instructor will explain to you just what is necessary
to know for your first dive. This does not take very long. You will
learn all that is needed in order to make a safe dive which is closely
supervised by your instructor. Before you go under water you receive
a 30 to 50 minutes briefing from your instructor.
Your
instructor will be with you at all times under water. At the beginning
of the dive you will practice a few skills with the instructor,
which usually takes just 5 minutes or so. Then you can just enjoy
the great feeling of weightlessness for the first time, while the
instructor shows you the amazing reef & marine life. The dives
are conducted in a maximum depth of 12 metres (40 feet). Your dive
might last approximately 20 or 30 minutes. If would you like to,
you can take another dive with your instructor on the same day!
Please Note: This course is not a qualification course
for Scuba diving. It is just an experience programme to get the
chance to do a scuba dive, without the usaully required qualifications.
If you repeat an intro dive in the future, a dive instructor must
dive with you at all times.
Requirements
No experience needed but must be able to swim.
Medical Requirements
In Australia, fill out a medical statement. If you have no medical
conditions, which are contradictory to scuba diving, then no medical
examination by a doctor is needed. more
